"Seeing the Forest For The Trees"
Earlier this year I made a piece entitled "What Trees?" that sold almost as soon as it was place in Many Hands Gallery. While it was great to sell the piece, I really didn't have time to enjoy it much before it left. (You can see the first assemblage by visiting the website -- under "Strange Angels.")
So, I decided to create another using the same concept. And, while the concept for the piece was the same, the look and colors were significantly different. Like the first one, I used pages from a 1902 mail order catalog to cover the head.
Details you cannot see here include the use of Scrabble letters going down the sides, spelling TREES & EYES.
This piece will be submitted to the Morris Graves Museum of Art for their annual December membership exhibit.
