Recently
we on a rather grey, rainy day when I had to drive down to Hilo for groceries.
During the ride I was delighted at the various soft tints of color, clouds of
various shades and landscapes softened by low cloud bottoms. When I got home I
created a strong line drawing that reflected the curves of the highway, the low
hills and soft cloud shapes. Digging through piles of collage materials I
searched for only the softest shades in an attempt to get the right feel.
