"Green Lives Matter"

Some months ago I gathered a batch of animals with mostly green tones thinking I would create a collage in mostly green -- and, the collection sat and sat. When I cleaned my desk, or finished another collage, I would pick up all these images, push them around a bit, and then, slip them back into their "ideas" folder and go on to something else.

During February our rain total (in Volcano on the Big Island) was 48 inches -- YES, FORTY-EIGHT INCHES which nixed the idea of my usual hours in the gardens surrounding our home. So, a couple weeks ago, I pulled them out again and just started cutting, and cutting and cutting, and began to assemble 2-3 images that worked well together. I started right after my breakfast tea and didn't stop until 4pm -- surprised that I was able to create a 20x30 inch collage in one day.

Sometimes it is helpful not to think too much -- just rely on the accumulation of skills in my tool box and just "go for it." Here's how it turned out.  Have fun counting the number of animals -- and I am certain you will miss one!
